Fresh off of propagating their corporate catfish face across their lineup, Hyundai is now apparently implementing a corporate deadmau5 face

This is the new 2019 Hyunda Elantra. It’s like the old Elantra, but the catfish mouth grille has gained some squinty mouse ear headlights. Or something. It doesn’t actually look like deadmau5, and maybe there’s some pokemon I’m picturing instead. But it’s a mouse!

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

Actually, the thing these headlights remind me of the most is the Kia Cadenza, just without the zig-zags.

Kinja'd!!!

I guess this means that everything pictured below is going to get Kia Cadenza headlights to go with their catfish mouths.

Is it more “dynamic” than the previous one? The sharp cuts and angles seem to suggest so, and that’s a key metric that influences the purchase of an Elantra.

Add some cartoon lines depicting speed and elongated face looking to be pinned back by the wind.

I see either a happy chipmunk, or maybe a rabbit, every time I’m behind one of these.

It’s dynamic, synergistic,  iconic, inspiring and win-win.

But remember, kids are stupid. That’s why Volkswagen has given people what they need, not what they want. That’s why they’re number one in the US.

Oh... wait...

I hope they don’t change the Elantra GT, it only was just releas ed not that long ago and I really like the front end design on those!

Same with the new Veloster, they would both be in the running as a replacement for my Accent down the road!

Saw a new Veloster in the flesh for the first time the other day. REALLY good looking car I thought...it’s grown up nicely without losing too much of the quirk.

Agreed! I’m weird, so I would happily drive an original Veloster, even in non0turbo sow as a dog form, but the new one looks very well put together on the styling front...no extra weird angles or vents or nonsense. :)
